He attended the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento., where he participated in the nationally ranked Mock Trial program. He had the privilege of spending a year in the Community Legal Services Program, where he engaged in limited practice, appearing in court on behalf of lower income individuals in such diverse areas as family law, landlord/tenant disputes, small claims, and the Federal Bankruptcy Court, and it was that experience where Jerry developed his passion for helping ordinary people navigate the complex and difficult world of the law.

He has represented clients in numerous trials and motion hearings, and has litigated in front of many of Southern Idaho’s Magistrate and District Courts, and has conducted appeals before the Idaho Court of Appeals and the Idaho Supreme Court. Since 2022, he has worked as an Associate for Terry Ratliff, as a Deputy Public Defender for Elmore County, and as a Contractor for the Idaho State Public Defender’s Office.
Civic activities have included serving as President on the Board of his HOA, as well as a three year term on the Vestry of St. Micheal’s Episcopal Cathedral in Boise. Jerry and his two children were the primary fundraisers for Boy Scout Troop 123. Jerry’s two children achieved the ranks of Life Scout and Eagle Scout, and he is very proud of them both.
Jerry represents clients in such diverse areas as family law, including interstate child custody matters, misdemeanor /felony criminal defense, consumer protection, estate/probate matters, landlord/tenant disputes, HOA litigation, employment law, contract disputes, Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices actions, Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, and lemon laws.
